Sandra Evelyn Carter, 62, was born on July 31, 1947 in Lexington, the daughter of the late Albert Davis Carter and Mary Alice (Wade) Carter.

She died on January 13, 2010 to be with her Lord and Savior.

She was a longtime employee in the tufting department at Mohawk Industries.

Shortly after leaving the tufting department, she soon became an employee of Aramark, which was located at Mohawk Industries.

She is survived by two sisters: Mary Smith and Mae Farmer, both of Lexington; two sons: Eric Carter of White Marsh, VA and Perry Hayes of Tennessee; two daughters, Sheree Ruley of Tennessee and Georgena Butler and fiance, Clifton Woolfrey (C.W.) of Glasgow; 18 grandchildren with her very first great grandchild on the way.

She was a great friend to everyone and always helped anyone in need She will be truly missed by many and thought of forever.

Funeral arrangements were handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
