Obituary for Lee Estes (Leroy) Wayland Lee Estes (Leroy) Wayland
Was Skilled, Respected Dry Wall Hanger, Finisher

Lee Estes (Leroy) Wayland, 61, of Lexington, died Thursday, January 28, 2010 following a courageous, defiant battle with cancer.

Born January 30, 1948 in Lexington, he was a son of the late Annie Estes Wayland and Robert Ramsay Wayland, Sr.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Robert Wayland, Jr.

By trade, he was a skilled and respected dry-wall hanger and finisher.

He'll be well-remembered for his straight-forward loyalty, individuality and quirky sense of humor.

Surviving are a sister, Bettie W. Slusser and husband, Harry; sister-in-law, Janet Life Wayland; a niece, Sandy Rickabaugh and husband, John; four nephews, John Slusser and wife, Shelly, Charles Wayland and wife, Allison, Glenn Wayland and wife, Nancy and Brian Wayland and wife, Tammy.

Lee totally enjoyed his extended family which included great nieces and nephews and many, many close, loving friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Wayland officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018, Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital, 1 Health Circle, Lexington, VA 24450 or a preferred charity.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
