Obituary for Reginald Glenn Arritt Reginald Glenn Arritt
Retired From Westvaco In 1991 After 44 Years Of Service

Reginald Glenn Arritt, 81, of 3111 Greenway Drive, Covington, Virginia, died Friday, January 29, 2010 at Alleghany Regional Hospital.

He was born July 20, 1928 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Roy E. and Reva Boone Arritt.

Mr. Arritt retired in 1991 after 44 years with Westvaco Corp. as a Recaustizing Operator.

He was a member of McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church, the Local 675 United paper Workers Union and the Covington Lodge #610, Loyal Order of Moose.

He was a retired member of the Virginia National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Heintz Arritt in February 2005 and also by a brother, Robert Arritt and a sister, Rita May Staton.

Surviving are his two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Ed Hemp and Mary Kay and Mike Guth, all of Covington; two sons, Steven E. Arritt of Richmond and Frank Arritt of Clifton Forge; four grandsons, Jason Hemp and Autumn Elbington of FL; Scott Arritt of Charlotte, NC; Tanner Arritt and Jordan Morgan, both of Clifton Forge; five granddaughters, Mindy and John Gardsinski of Hot Springs; Michelle and Scott May; and Megan and Brent May, all of Covington; Samatha Arritt of Charlotte, NC and Amber Guth of Covington; six great grandchildren, Brennen Gardzinski and Bayley Gardzinski, both of Hot Springs; Brady May and Madeline May, both of Covington; Blake Hemp and Veda Elbington, both of FL; three brothers, Roy U. and Nancy Arritt; Ronald and Edith Arritt, both of Covington and Raymond "Jaby" and Irma Arritt of Richmond; and one sister, RennaLee Fleshman of Lynchburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The interment will be made Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church, 900 N. Alleghany Ave, Covington, VA or to the COPE Food Bank, 900 N. Alleghany Ave., Covington, VA 24426.

The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2010 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael C. Fleenor officiating.

Friends may pay their respects any time at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive their friends one hour prior to service time.
