Obituary for Robert C. Simar Robert C. (Pete) Simar
Owner Of Simar Enterprises Dies At Age 63

Robert Clayton (Pete) Simar, 63, of Lexington, died Friday, February 19, 2010 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina after a short illness.

Born March 30, 1946 in New York, he was the son of Arloween Simar and the late Byron R. Simar.

Pete attended the Grace Presbyterian Church and was the proud owner of Simar Enterprises for more than 20 years.

He was also a member of Effinger Ruritan Club, Masonic Lodge, and numerous prayer groups.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Cynthia A. Simar of Lexington; five daughters, Natalie Davies of Colorado; Sarah Simar of Lexington; Frances Zamarripa of Texas; Emily Floyd of Buena Vista; Celia Kovac of Lexington; one son, Michael Harris of Fredericksburg; two sisters, Sharleen Walker of Illnois; Marilyn Minneboo of Florida; one brother, Richard Simar of New York; six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Carter officiating. The family will receive friends 4 to 6 on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Home. In addition to the funeral service in Lexington, a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Switzer Funeral Home in Port Allegany, PA, with burial to follow in the Annin Creek Cemetery, Turtlepoint, PA.

The family suggests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A Roanoke, VA 24018 or the Gideon's International P.O. Box 942 Lexington, VA 24450.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
