William Scott Fitzgerald, 44, of Chester, VA, previously Vesuvius and Buena Vista, VA, went home to be with our Lord on Friday morning, February 19, 2010.

He is survived by his mother, Sally Marie Fitzgerald of Buena Vista; his sister and her husband, Cindy F. and Norris (Eddie) Dudley of Buena Vista; his sister and husband, Alice F. and William (Mike) Smiley of Buena Vista, his sister, Barbara E. Fitzgerald of Georgia and his brother, Joseph A. (Joey) Fitzgerald, of Buena Vista, and a half brother, David William (Billy) Hartless of Texas; one niece and one nephew and two great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Lynn Fitzgerald and his father, William F. (Fuzzy) Fitzgerald.

He was employed at Mundet Hermitite, Buena Vista, and Roslyn-Converters, Colonial Heights, VA for over 25 years.

Per Scott's wishes, there will be no family night nor memorial service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at the Bank of America or donations may be made to (William) Scott Fitzgerald Memorial, c/o 167 W. 29th Street, Buena Vista, VA. 24416. A detailed obituary will be provided later.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
