Frances Martha Richardson Johnson, 81, of Buena Vista, one we love so dearly was called away suddenly February 25, 2010.

Born in Amherst County January 22, 1929, she was a daughter of the late James Edward Richardson and Carrie Carter Richardson.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Piney Hill Baptist Church of Amherst and was a caretaker for First Baptist Church of Buena Vista.

She was a member of the usher board and busy bee.

She was loved by all she came in contact with and will be greatly missed at home, at church and in her neighborhood. She was a kind and generous woman who wore a smile and was always willing to lend her service to anyone in need. Her kindness and graciousness have touched hundreds of members and friends.

Surviving are her loving husband, Harry (Buckwheat) Johnson; one daughter, Frances Mae Sanderson of Buena Vista; four sisters, Sadie Douglas of Amherst, Maxine Douglas, Beatrice Martin and Dorothy Richardson, all of Buena Vista; two brothers, Henry Richardson of Amherst and Oscar Richardson of Buena Vista; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2010 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roy Carter officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Buena Vista, VA.
