Joseph Anthony Chiofalo, 98, of Lexington, Virginia, died Saturday, March 13, 2010 in Benjamin Borden Center.

He was born May 1, 1911 in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Gaspare and Nedria Chiofalo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Chiofalo and also his first wife, Filomena Chiofalo.

Mr. Chiofalo was owner and operator of Joe's Barber Shop in New York for over 60 years.

Surviving are two children, Edna Camille Palmer of Lexington and Joseph Robert Chiofalo of Long Island, NY; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Joseph D'Aurora officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Long Island, NY.

The family will receive friends from 4 - 6 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010 with a Rosary at 5 p.m. at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
