Obituary for Kenneth Dean Riley Kenneth Dean Riley
Talented Carpenter Was Lexington Native

Kenneth Dean Riley, 49, of 26 Jessica Lane, Afton, Virginia, died Friday, March 19, 2010 at the University of Virginia Hospital.

He was born April 1, 1960 in Lexington, VA, son of the late Charles F. Riley and Frances Riley Throckmorton, who survives.

He was a graduate of Rockbridge High School.

During his career as a talented carpenter, he worked for W.M. Jordan, Crenshaw Construction, Nielson Construction, and most recently with KJellstrom & Lee Construction, Staunton.

Kenny had a love for hunting, farming, and spending quality time with his family.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Samantha Riley and her fiancˇ, Travis Rankin of Waynesboro; life partner & best friend, Holly Clark of Afton; three sisters, Patricia Camden of Buena Vista, Ellen R. VanNatten and her husband, Richard of Lexington; and Tammy Allen of Providence Forge; five brothers, Larry Riley and his wife, Glenda of La Vergne, TN; Dennis Riley of Buena Vista; Thomas Riley and his wife, Sheryl of Fairfield; Charles Riley of Burkeville; and Aubrey Throckmorton of Ashland; one granddaughter, Amelia Claire Rankin of Waynesboro; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at McDow Funeral Home, Waynesboro, VA.

A service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at McDow Funeral Home by Katha Bolfrass. Interment will follow in Fairfield Cemetery, Fairfield, VA.
