Obituary for Alice Haney Phillips Burger Alice Haney Phillips Burger
Homemaker Was C.F. Presbyterian Church Member

Alice Haney Phillips Burger, age 88, of The Springs Nursing Home, Hot Springs, Virginia, and formerly of 508 Commercial Avenue, Clifton Forge, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at The Springs.

She was born October 26, 1921 in Clifton Forge to the late Charles and Mary Hostetter Phillips.

She was a homemaker throughout her life and a member of Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland T. Burger, Jr. in 1996 and a brother, Sylvester Phillips.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Burger and wife, Carol of Hot Springs and Robert Burger and wife, Amy of Hampton; a sister, Stella Campbell of Clifton Forge; a sister-in-law, Lillian Phillips of Clifton Forge; four grandchildren, Charles Burger, Jr. of Hot Springs, Samantha Keyser of Hot Springs, Benjamin Burger of Hot Springs and Robert Burger, Jr. of Hampton; a great grandchild, Chandler Keyser, and a number of nieces and nephews including special nephew, Butch Campbell of Clifton Forge.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Paul Brokaw officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family attending the service. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
