Obituary for Ernest Miller Lawhorne Ernest Miller Lawhorne
Buena Vista Native Was Lawhorne Realty Owner

Ernest Miller Lawhorne, went to his heavenly home to be with his savior on March 27, 2010.

He loved the Lord, his family and church. He was a gentle man.

Ernest was born on September 14, 1938 in Buena Vista, VA, to the late Oney and Edith Lawhorne.

He was predeceased by his older brother, Robert Lawhorne and mother and father-in-law, Walter and Julia Hylton.

He is survived by his devoted, loving wife of forty-four years, Judy Hylton Lawhorne; the loves of his life, his two daughters, Julie Lawhorne Denham, and husband, Chuck of Gastonia, NC and Rebecca Lawhorne Mathia and Tim of Lynchburg, VA ; the five special loves, his grandchildren: Callie Kathryn Mathia, Alexander Hylton Denham, Addison Bailey Mathia, Matthew Graham Denham, and Julianne Elizabeth Denham; also surviving is one sister, Betty-Jo Wheeler, and two brothers, William Lawhorne, and Larry Lawhorne.

Ernest was a proud member of Oronoco Church of the Brethren. He loved each member and received such solitude and joy when he walked in the door. He owned Lawhorne Realty and had been a broker for thirty-five years. He was also a member of Rockbridge Realtor's Association. He was a proud graduate of McCluer High School. He served his country in the U.S. army for four years and was a true American.

Bolling, Grose & Lotts is handling the arrangements. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday March 30, 2010, at Oronoco Church of the Brethren with Rev. Arnold Bradley officiating. The family will receive friends at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2010.
