Dorothy Hanson Petty, 91, of Pasadena, MD, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, in the Oak Lodge Senior Living Center at Pasadena.

She was a former resident of Ogles Creek for many years.

Mrs. Petty was born January 20, 1919, in Reusens, Virginia, a daughter of the late John and Mary Willie Wilkerson Hanson.

She was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church, where she had served in the church choir and as a pianist. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Women.

Surviving are her two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Bonnie Petty of Pasadena, MD, and Donald and Pam Petty of Fredericksburg; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Snyder officiating.

Interment will be made in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia.
