Louis Preston Swisher, 79, of 2317 Walkers Creek Road, Rockbridge Baths, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at his residence.

Louis was born in Rockbridge County, October 16, 1930, son of the late James William and Mary Beulah (Price) Swisher.

Louis was a sawmill operator and a farmer.

He faithfully attended Immanuel Presbyterian Church.

Louis is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann (Whitesell) Swisher, whom he married on December 5, 1963; his daughter, Joan Elaine Swisher; son-in-law, Robert Wayne Davis; and grandson, Remington Simon Swisher-Davis, all of Rockbridge Baths.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at McKinley United Methodist Church with Rev. Ray B. Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow at McKinley United Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 - 8 Friday, April 16, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Home.
