Obituary for Gloria Irene Ferguson (Dot) Trent Gloria Irene Ferguson (Dot) Trent
Rockbridge County Native Was Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Member

Gloria Irene Ferguson (Dot) Trent, 88, of Natural Bridge, Va., died on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Havenwood.

Born on February 25, 1922, in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Zechariah Ferguson and Ruth Mack Austin Ferguson.

Dot was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Eugene Trent; two sisters, Shirley F. Camden and Dora Jane Gilbert; and five brothers, Kenneth, Releford, Samuel, Marvin and Erskine Ferguson.

She was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Eugene Franklin Trent; one daughterin-law, Barbara Cash Trent, of Glasgow; three brothers, Melvin Ferguson, of Lexington, and Frank Ferguson and Boyce Ferguson, both of Buena Vista; one sister, Cat F. Camper, of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Ashley and Bailey Trent; one great-grandchild, Kayla Trent; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010, at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William M. Thomas and the Rev. George Warden officiating. Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Rockbridge Area Hospice, P.O. Box 948, Lexington, Va. 24450. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Va.
