Obituary for Gertimore (Terry) Graham Gertimore (Terry) Graham
Manhattan, NY Native Worked With Peebles, W&L

Gertimore (Terry) Graham, 68, of Rockbridge Baths, Va., passed away on Thursday morning, May 20, 2010.

She was born on December 21, 1941, in Manhattan, N.Y., to the late Sherry and Fredrica Cartier.

Gertimore grew up in the Bronx with a household of loving siblings, Austin, Randy, Stratton, Cherry, Martha, Violet, Chrystalia, Ellita, and Fredrica.

She was an employee of Long Island Jewish Hospital before coming to Virginia. Once in Virginia, she continued her work at Fishersville Rehabilitation Center. She went on to work for Peebles department store, where she retired after 10 years. Gertimore sporadically did clerical work at Lexington Hospice.

Not being one to stay idle, she went to work part time at W&L University as a food clerk for five years before retiring for good.

Surviving are her husband of 30 years, John Graham; her eldest son, Robert Gray and his wife, Connie; her youngest son, Jon-Paul Graham; grandchildren, Martha, Marlina, and Sabrina; several great-grandchildren; her siblings, Randy, her "Big Brother-comic," Cherry, her "father-like figure," Martha her "Nurturer," Violet, her "Guide and Teacher, Chrystalia, her "Support System," Ellita, her "Best Friend," and Fredrica, her "Spiritual Guide;" and numerous nieces and nephews who will continue to love and remember her fondly.

Gertimore was very caring and compassionate person to all around her, which is why she was so loved by all.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. on Monday, May 24, 2010, at Lexington Four Square Gospel Church with Pastor Hunter Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
