Obituary for William Berkley (Mann) Markham William Berkley (Mann) Markham
AET Lab Technician Retired After 44 Years Of Service

William Berkley (Mann) Markham, 71, of 1120 Cherokee Trail, Covington, Virginia, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at his residence.

Mr. Markham was born May 10, 1939, in Covington, a son of the late Joseph and Ossie Lee Markham Markham.

He had retired in 1999 as a Lab Technician Foreman from AET, Inc. after 44 years of service.

Mr. Markham was a member of the South Covington United Methodist Church and the Chestnut Mountain Hunt Club.

He enjoyed being an active participant in the Virginia Lottery System.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Brant Markham in 2003, and also by two brothers, Allen L. "Popeye" Markham and Jack Markham; and three sisters, Hazel Ducat, Virginia Bowen and Lucy Foster.

Surviving are two daughters, Teresa Ridgeway and her husband, Gordon, of Covington, and Carlinda Todd and her husband, Kent, of Bridgewater; five grandchildren, Tryna Bowen, Stephanie Ridgeway and Walt Ridgeway, all of Covington and Emily Todd and Kiley Todd, both of Bridgewater; three great grandchildren, Koty Bowen, Kameryn Bowen and Kassydee Bowen, all of Covington; three brothers, Max Markham, Pete Markham and Roy Markham, all of Covington; one sister, Wilma Spangler of Clifton Forge; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held Thursday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. in the South Covington United Methodist Church with the Rev. Faith Weedling officiating.

Friends may pay their respects at any time at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia.

Entombment will be made in the Alleghany Memorial Park Mausoleum.
