Obituary for Marshall Hunter Wright Marshall Hunter Wright
Buena Vista Resident Dies At Age 76

Marshall Hunter Wright, 76, of Buena Vista, Va., passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, after a courageous battle with leukemia.

He was born on October 20, 1933, the son of the late Forrest and Nettie Wright.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Albert, and David.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gloria Lewis Wright; a son, Robert Wright and wife, Gail, of Buchanan; a daughter, Debbie Coffey and husband, Larry, of Buena Vista; three grandchildren, Marshall F. Wright and wife, Julie, of Knoxville, Tenn., Leslie Stevens and husband, Matt, of Bridgewater, and Brandon Coffey and wife, Jenny, of Buena Vista; one greatgrandson, Bradley Stevens, of Bridgewater; five brothers, Ben, Elwood, and Claude, of Buena Vista, Hayden of Lynchburg, and Harvey of Natural Bridge; two sisters, Nannie Huffman and Helen Bare, of Buena Vista; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, June 4, 2010, at the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church with the Reverend George W. Chapman III officiating assisted by the Reverend Bart Helmuth. Interment will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 406, 303 24th Street, Buena Vista, Va. 24416; the Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers Street, Lexington, Va. 24450 or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, Mass. 01202.
