Obituary for Donald Wayne Miller Donald Wayne Miller
Vietnam Veteran Was Glasgow Fire Department Member

Donald Wayne Miller, 64, of Natural Bridge Station, Virginia, died Friday, June 4, 2010, at Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

He was born December 29, 1945, in Buena Vista, a son of Thelma Beatrice Wilcher, of Natural Bridge Station and the late Calvin Lloyd Johnson.

He served in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967, was a member of the Glasgow Fire Department for 12 years, worked for Mohawk for 21 years, and was also a member of the Faith Baptist Church.

Mr. Miller enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family.

In addition to his mother, Thelma Wilcher and her husband, Corbett, Donald is survived by his wife, Betty Miller; his children, Donald W. Miller Jr., Richard A. Miller and wife, Alice, Cynthia D. Miller and Joe, all of Natural Bridge Station, and Karen M. Davis and husband, John, of Buena Vista; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a special friend, Cheryl Helmick.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Monday June 7, 2010, at Faith Baptist Church with the the Rev. Terry Bostic officiating. Burial will follow at the Glasgow Cemetery. Friends may gather with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Glasgow Volunteer Fire Department.

Arrangements are being handled by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Va.
