James Caldwell Lam, Sr., 94, of Lexington, Virginia, died Thursday, June 17, 2010.

Born February 2, 1916, in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late James W. Lam and Mamie Pultz Lam.

Mr. Caldwell was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Campbell Lam; a son, James C. Lam, Jr. and his sister, Frances Lam Chorey.

As a long term citizen of the Lexington community, he was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church and a member of the Lexington Lions Club.

Surviving are one daughter, Debbie Tinsley and husband, John of Raleigh, NC; one son, Robert C. Lam and wife, Maureen of Oakton, VA; two brothers, Wilfred Lam of Winter Park, FL and Kenneth Lam of Derwood, MD; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. William Klein officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Home.
