Retired Mechanic Was Harley Davidson Enthusiast

Julian Edward (Snyde) Snyder, 58, of 314 Stone Road, Covington, Virginia, died Saturday, June 26, 2010, at his home.

Mr. Snyder was born July 5, 1951, in Alleghany County, a son of Earnest M. "Jake" Snyder, Sr. of Covington and the late Mary Jones Snyder.

He had retired as a mechanic for Snyder's Garage.

He attended Forest Memorial Chapel Community Church.

He loved playing guitar and was an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Jean Kessinger Snyder; his daughter, Elisha Dawn Snyder; one brother, Benjamin Snyder; and a special nephew, Little Ben Snyder.

Surviving in addition to his father, are his son, Shane Snyder and his wife, Linda, of Covington; two grandsons, Tanner Snyder of Covington and Kameron Huffman of Gap Mills, WV; one brother, Earnest Snyder, Jr. of Roanoke; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and David Wickline of Covington and Paige and David Roach of Scottsville; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Roxy.

The family will receive friends following the service at Arritt Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence of Marilyn and David Wickline at 416 Stone Road.

The funeral service will be held Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with Pastor Merlin Durham officiating.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Snyder's body will be cremated.
