Daniel Wayne (Sonny) Knick, 62, of Lexington died Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born March 20, 1948 in Lexington, he was a son of Carl J. Knick and the late Helen Ruley Knick.

Sonny was a member of Ebenezer ARP Church and served in Vietnam 1970 Ð 1971, where he was a Bronze star recipient and was in the Air Force until 1973.

Surviving in addition to his father, are his wife, Emily M. Knick; one daughter, Serena Boykin of Birmingham, AL; one son, Daniel Wayne Knick, Jr. of Lexington; and a brother, Robert "Beau" Knick of Lexington.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Williams and Rev. Jim Giles officiating. The family received friends on Friday, July 09, 2010. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ebenezer ARP Church, 1610 W. Midland Trail, Lexington, VA 24450.
