Homemaker Was Highland Chapel Christian Church

Joyce Kemper Campbell, 71, of 1607 Hot Springs Road, Covington, Virginia, died Thursday, July 8, 2010 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 11, 1939 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Harry G. and Effie Tucker Kemper.

Mrs. Campbell was a homemaker and was a member of Highland Chapel Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Campbell and a brother, John R. Kemper.

Surviving are two sons, Gerald Campbell of Covington and John and Opal Campbell of Little Rock, AR; four grandchildren, Kala Campbell and Justin Campbell, both of Covington; Amanda Campbell of NC and Scott Campbell of Little Rock, AR; three sisters, Barbara Nicely and Rachel Cochran, both of Covington, and Betty Angle of Moneta; three brothers, Harry L. "Woody" Kemper of Fincastle; Larry Kemper of TX and Vernon Kemper of TN; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2010 at the graveside in Lone Star Cemetery.

Friends may pay their respects any time at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday evening form 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home. Family and friends attending the service may assemble at Arritt Funeral Home by 10:30 a.m. Monday to proceed to the cemetery.
