Obituary for Lillian (Lucy) Pyle Humphries Lillian (Lucy) Pyle Humphries
Maryland Native Was Cook, Covington Area Resident

Lillian (Lucy) Pyle Humphries, 90, formerly of Blue Spring Run, Virginia, died Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Alleghany Regional Hospital.

She was the widow of the late Samuel V. Humphries. Mrs. Humphries was born Feb. 29, 1920, in Baltimore, Md., the daughter of the late Gertrude Pyle.

She had formerly worked as a cook at Horn & Horn Cafeteria in Baltimore, Md. Mrs. Humphries had been a resident of the area since 1983.

She is survived by Lee and Elaine Humphries, Tammy Bogar, Debbie Brown, Jeff Humphries, Allen Humphries, Ray Humphries and Gail Rose, all of Covington. And a number of cousins.

In addition to her mother and husband, Samuel, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Russell Humphries; and a sister-in-law, Malinda Humphries.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of loving Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Geer officiating.

Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be Todd Smith, Jeff Humphries, Austin Humphries, Joey Brown, Brian Hubbard and Craig Bowen.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 until 8:30 p.m.
