Geraldine (Gerry) Taylor Clark, 75, of Lexington, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday morning, July 13, 2010, after a long illness.

Born April 3, 1935, in Buena Vista, Virginia, Gerry was the daughter of the late Talmage S. Taylor and Viola Maggie Lou Cash Taylor.

Gerry graduated from Parry McCluer High School and attended Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana and Phillips Business College in Lynchburg, Virginia.

She was a member of First Brethren Church, where she served as finance secretary, head of the junior Sunday school department and as a Sunday school teacher for many years.

Gerry retired in 2001 from the Rockbridge Public Service Authority after nearly 30 years of service to Rockbridge County.

She was a lifetime friend to animals and treasured the years spent with her loyal Boston terriers.

Gerry is survived by her husband of 42 years and traveling partner, Bill D. Clark of Lexington; her sister, Mildred Taylor of Buena Vista; and her brother and his partner, Dale Taylor and Devin Nicely, of Buena Vista; as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Odell Humphries officiating.

Interment will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation's Virginia Office located at www.kidneyva.org and 1742 East Parham Road, Richmond, Virginia 23228-2202.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
