Retired Central Fidelity Bank Teller Was Active In Women's Ministries

Geneva Barnwell Fogus, 77, of Natural Bridge, Virginia, died suddenly Friday, July 23, 2010 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born April 6, 1933 in White Sulfur Springs, VA, she was a daughter of the late Hugh Dillard Barnwell, Jr. and Carmen Elizabeth Hylton Barnwell.

Mrs. Fogus was retired as a teller at Central Fidelity Bank and worked part time at the Natural Bridge Wax Museum.

She was a former treasurer of the Women's Ministry at the Appalachian Conference and served in women's ministry of several churches.

Surviving are her husband, Rev. Conald W. Fogus; children, Vaughn A. Fogus and wife, Jennifer of Lynchburg and Joanna F. Irby and husband, Charles J. of Natural Bridge Station; grandchildren, Whitney Padgett, Chelsea Fogus, Chase Fogus, Tara Padgett, Zane Irby and Austin Irby; three brothers, Thomas Lee Barnwell and wife, Ester, Hugh Dillard Barnwell and wife, Stella and Miles Amory Barnwell.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. W. David Bain and Rev. W. A. Mills officiating. Burial will be at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2010 in Appalachian Conference PHC, Dublin, VA. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, VA.
