Obituary for Anna Buchanan Claytor Anna Buchanan Claytor
Worked At W&L For 31 Years

Anna Buchanan Claytor, 87 of Lexington, Virginia, passed away Monday, August 2, 2010 at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Walker Webb and Anna Arehart Buchanan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Buchanan Smith and Helen Buchanan Leighton.

Mrs. Claytor was an active member for many years with the Pythian Sisters, where she enjoyed many travels and friends.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lexington and retired from Washington and Lee University after 31 years.

Surviving are five children, Bill Claytor, Mike Claytor and wife, Sandra of Buena Vista, Bob Claytor and wife, Sandra, Anne Conklin and husband, Harold of Lexington and Rita Royce and husband, Ray of Philadelphia, PA; daughter-in-law, Brenda Claytor; two sisters, Betty Ferguson and husband, Ray of Buena Vista and Vivian Pyle and husband, Harry of Sebring, FL; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; many special nieces and nephews and many long and devoted friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2010 in Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. James B. Grimmer and Rev. Joshua King officiating. Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lexington First Aid, 708 S. Main St., Lexington, VA 24450, the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004 or the American Heart Association, Mid-Atlantic Affiliate, P O Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
