George T. Mason, 78, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Saturday, August 7, 2010.

Mr. Mason was born on December 10, 1931 in Rockbridge County, the son of the late Aubrey W. Mason and Nellie Mae Mazingo Mason.

He was a dedicated member of the Grace Chapel Church for the past eleven years. He never missed a Sunday in seven years and sang in the choir. He also had 10 years of dedicated service to WalMart.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Cyntha Painter and Wyma Mason Storms.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Mason of Buena Vista; three children: Luwanna and husband, Tim, George Mason and wife, Salena, both of Buena Vista; Marjorie Brotherton of Salem; one sister, Frances Sain of Glasgow; special niece, Karen Smallman and husband, Charles of Buena Vista; great niece, Katie Wood and husband, Wesley Wood of Buena Vista; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and special friends, Carl and wife, Betty McGowan and Debbie French.

Funeral servces will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral chapel with the Rev. Butch Grow and Rev. Tommy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
