Rockbridge Native Helped Run Mason's TV In Buena Vista

Clelon Inez Clark Mason, 87, of Buena Vista, VA, died Monday, August 16, 2010 at Bristol Regional Medical Center Hospice, Bristol, Tennessee.

Born July 31, 1923 on Irish Creek in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of the late Houston Letcher Clark and Rosalie Clark.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles A. Mason Jr.; 9 brothers and sisters.

She was a member of Magnolia Avenue Baptist Church in Buena Vista.

Mrs. Mason was a graduate of Ferrum High School in 1942.

She was blessed to attend as part of a missionary outreach for mountain children.

Mrs. Mason helped her husband run Mason's TV in Buena Vista for many years where they delighted in their customers and in being part of the business community.

For many years, she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and was involved in the community caring for those in need. She was a 20-year member of Bible Study Fellowship and Community Bible Study in Lexington, VA.

Surviving are one sister, Irby Sorrells of Waynesboro, VA, as well as 7 children: Sylvia Beaver of Coeburn, VA, Carnes Mason and wife, Dianne of Buena Vista, Michael Clark and wife, Sue of Waynesboro, VA, Gary Mason and wife, Sherry of Cherryville, NC, Charles Mason III of Warrenton, VA, Paula Keller and husband, John of Manassas, VA, and Shelley Parsons and husband, Tom of Abingdon, VA.

She was blessed with 22 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Bolling, Grose and Lotts Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 20 with the funeral following at 3 p.m. with Rev. Ben Sanders officiating.
