William Edward Drain, 81, of Lexington, Virginia, died Friday, August 20, 2010 at home.

He was born January 16, 1929, the son of the late Gill Drain and Minnie Kirby Drain Ellis.

Mr. Drain was employed with Centel for 44 years and was a lifetime farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Frances P. Drain of Lexington, two daughters, Wanda Drain; Belva Drain; two brothers, Johnny Drain; Robert Drain; two grandchildren, Earl Knick and wife, Carol; Justin Wright and wife, Pansy; four great grandchildren, William Knick, Kaleb Wright, Samantha Bryant, and Kevin Carter; special friend Paul D. Ramsey.

A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2010 at Collierstown Presbyterian Cemetery with the Rev. Skip Hastings officiating. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
