Obituary for Annabelle Deeds Gleason Annabelle Deeds Gleason
C.F. Presbyterian Church Member Was Retired C&O Nurse

Annabelle Deeds Gleason, age 86, of 1108 Madison Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Sunday, August 22, 2010 at her residence.

She was born August 23, 1923 in Jumping Branch, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Allen Frank and Ora Grace Young Deeds.

She was a retired nurse for the Chesapeake and Ohio Hospital and belonged to the C & O Nurses Alumni.

She was a member of Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church, where she was in the Sara Lin Sunday School Class and the Women of the Church. She was also a member of the Twilight Garden Club and was a life member of the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee McCullough Gleason, Jr.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda Gleason Hogue and husband, Philip C. of Richmond; two sisters, Carrell Kincaid of Hinton, WV and Frankie Martin of Beckley, WV; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service was conducted on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor with Reverend Paul Brokaw officiating. The family received friends at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge from 10:00 AM until time of service and will at other times at the residence, 1108 Madison Ave, Clifton Forge.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 20, Clifton Forge, VA 24422, Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, PO Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422, or to American Cancer Society, Alleghany Highlands Division, C/O Karen Buzzard, 807 McCormick Blvd, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.

Arrangements were handled by the Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
