Obituary for Ray Milton Wright Ray Milton Wright
Eagle Rock Resident Was Retired Mechanic

Ray Milton Wright, 75, of Eagle Rock, Virginia, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 at his residence.

He was born in Botetourt County, Virginia on July 14, 1935, a son of the late Howard Westley and Viola Zell Wright.

He was a retired mechanic at the former Hercules Inc. and A.E.T. of Covington.

He was a member of the Eagle Rock Baptist Church and attended the Iron Gate United Methodist Church.

Ray was a life member of the Eagle Rock Volunteer Fire Department and member of the Eagle Rock Ruritan Club.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Burgess Dudding Wright of Eagle Rock; a daughter, Amy Lynn Wright and friend, D.J. of Daleville; a son ,Delbert Dudding and his wife, Judy of Troutville; 2 sisters, Aileen Painter of Virginia Beach and Barbara Showalter and husband, Gary of Iron Gate; sister-in-law, Ruth Wright of Clifton Forge; 2 brothers, Ronald Wright and his wife, Alma of Eagle Rock and Wayne Wright and his wife, Janice of Troutville. He is survived by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a brother Howard E. "Bud" Wright.

Funeral Services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge with the Rev. Lester Kennedy, III and Rev. Robert McRae officiating. Interment was made in Eagle Rock Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Donald Saville, Sonny Craft, Bob Paice, Steve Vaughn, Mark Sloan, Danny Bryant, William Fulton and D.J. Roberts. Honorary pallbearers were Dave Stull, Wilbur Newcomb and Kenny Wiley.

Friends may call any time at Nicely Funeral Home or at the residence. The family received friends Monday evening at Nicely Funeral Home.
