Obituary for Donna May Rhodes Wallace Donna May Rhodes Wallace
Natural Bridge Resident Was Longtime Stop-In Employee

Donna May Rhodes Wallace, 63, of Natural Bridge, Va., passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010.

She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

Donna was loved by many and her memory will carry on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Donna lived a quiet life and was a long time employee of Stop-In.

Donna devoted her love to her children, Dawn Wallace Pugh and Brian Wayne Wallace.

Donna cherished her life, even when times got tough; she still pushed through and held on. Donna now rests in peace beside her parents, Otey Warren and Alene Roberts Rhodes. Donna, instead of being watched over and taken care of by others, is now watching over her family and friends. She had a very special friend for 14 years, her cocker spaniel, Samantha, who was always there by her side, and who will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Eugene Wayne Wallace; her daughter and son-in-law, Dawn Wallace and Pat Pugh; her son, Brian Wayne Wallace; and her grandson, D. Connor, all of Natural Bridge. She is also survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Patsy Rhodes and John Berry, of Acworth, Ga., and Joyce Rhodes Manning, of Knoxville, Tenn.; brother and sister-in-law, Andrew Warren and Pam Rhodes, of Eagle Rock; stepson and wife, Eugene Wayne Jr. and Lisa Wallace, of Natural Bridge; stepgrandchildren, Ashlee Wallace, Wayne Wallace III, Heather Reynolds, and Michael Chittum; five step great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A very special thanks to her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and J.C. Rice, for their many hours of loving devotion in taking care of Donna during her last few months of life. God Bless Donna and may she rest in peace.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, September 24, 2010, at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Pastor Nathan Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Cancer Society , 9 E. Church Ave., Roanoke, Va. 24011.
