Katie Floyd Fitzgerald of Buena Vista, Va., died Monday, October 4, 2010 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Lexington, VA.
She was born January 7, 1916, the daughter of the late Gertrude Clark Floyd and Frank Floyd of Buena Vista, Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie (Bill) Fitzgerald of Buena Vista; her sister, Libby Floyd Entsminger of Lexington, and two brothers, Raymond Floyd of Monroe, Va. and Harry Floyd of Buena Vista. Also surviving Mrs. Fitzgerald are her sister-in-law, Mrs. Mildred Floyd of Buena Vista, numerous nieces, nephews, and many other special family members and friends.
Mrs. Fitzgerald was a lifelong homemaker and resident of Rockbridge County.
She was a member of the Mt. View Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heritage Hall Resident Aid Fund.
A funeral service will be held at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Va., on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 2 p.m., with Pastor Mike Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
