Obituary for Julie Cullen Patterson Julie Cullen Patterson
Retired Pharmacist's Technician Was Buena Vista Resident

Julie Cullen Patterson, 68, of Buena Vista, VA, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 9, 2010.

She is preceded in death by her father Lewis Cullen, mother Carmen Cullen and twin sister Marjorie "Babe" Armentrout.

Mrs. Patterson was a member of St. John's Methodist United Methodist Church in Buena Vista. She also was a member of the Buena Vista Woman's Club and a retired employee of Stonewall Jackson Hospital, where she was a Pharmacist Technician for twenty seven years.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Philip Patterson; four exceptionally wonderful children and their partners: Philip "Jay" Patterson II and Lisa; Jon Conrad "Rad" Patterson and Angie; Leslie Patterson Dorey and Yonnie, and Andrew Cullen Patterson and Becky; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren, brothers-in-law, Richard Armentrout and his four children; Scott Anderson, Mark Armentrout, Ashley Burnett and Brandon Anderson; and Charles Patterson. Brothers Lewis Cullen Jr. and Sadie of Mt. Airy, Maryland; David and Susan Cullen of Stuarts Draft, VA, and William "Butch" and Brenda Cullen of Buena Vista.

Julie leaves behind many special friends: Aubrey and Betsy Foster, Jeannie Van Ness and her PMHS Classmates of 1960. Some of her special joys include her many trips to Virginia Beach, camping at Glen Maury Park and spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be held at11 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at St. John's United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Choi officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at St. John's United Methodist Church. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Rockbridge Cancer Society or St. JohnÕs United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling Grose & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Buena Vista.
