Obituary for Walter Brookman Walter Brookman
Military Veteran Was Contee Sand and Gravel Corp. Retiree

Walter Brookman, 85, of Potts Creek, Va., died October 13, 2010 at the Brian Center in Fincastle Va.

He was born June 21, 1925 in Jordan Mines Boiling Springs, Va., son of the late Arthur Brookman and the late Effie Wolfe Brookman.

He was a proud American veteran who served his country from 1943 to 1946.

He was a dedicated employee and retired from Contee Sand and Gravel Corp.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Mitchelle Brookman' sons, Larry Brookman, Jerry Brookman, and daughter, Elaine Brookman Felix.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Lilly Marie Peppers of Troutman NC.; his son, Donald Brookman of Laurel Md.; his daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Tim Miles of Colora, Md.; and his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and J.R. Noell of Mt. Airy Md; grandchildren, Mark, Wendy, Jennifer, Shelly, Ricky, Kelly, Holly; and was blessed by many great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Lone Star Baptist Church, 6100 Potts Creek Road.

Please come celebrate his life and embrace his passing with his brothers and sister, nieces and nephews and friends who loved him dearly.
