Gladys Mae Dickerson, 72, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 in Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Born November 12, 1937 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Gladys Mae Holloway Stewart.

Surviving are her husband, George Daniel Dickerson, Sr.; children, Barbara Mae Forren of Buena Vista, Mary Louise Reynolds of Staunton, Gladys Mae Mattox of Roanoke, Hattie Marie Miller, George Daniel Dickerson, Jr., both of Lexington, and Samuel Lee Dickerson of Roanoke; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Stevenson and Alice Carter, both of Brownsburg; two brothers, Lee Roy Stewart of Brownsburg and Samuel Stewart of Middlebrook.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Superintendent David A. Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
