Obituary for Dorothy Nuckoles Dotson Dorothy Nuckoles Dotson
Food Service Professional Retired From Callaghan Elementary School

Dorothy Nuckoles Dotson, 86, of 4824 Indian Draft Road, Covington, Virginia, died Monday, November 1, 2010 at her residence.

She was born June 3, 1924 at Stuarts Draft in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Raymond Ransford Nuckoles and Mae Ella Campbell Nuckoles.

Mrs. Dotson received a certificate for completion of Food Service Curriculum from Dabney S. Lascaster Community College in 1982 and was employed by the Alleghany County School System in food service. She retired as the Manager of Callaghan Elementary School Cafeteria.

She was a member of the Fletcher Chapel United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dotson was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Dotson in 1991; a son, Jerry Dotson in February of this year and a brother, Charles Ransford Nuckoles.

Surviving are her daughter, Lorrie Tucker of Covington; her son and daughter in law, Steve and Judy Dotson of Clifton Forge; one grandson, Jason Jones and Kim Bush of Covington; her granddaughter, Dodie Woodard and her husband, Marty of Radford; two great grandsons, Jack Woodard and Luke Woodard, both Radford; two sisters, Phyllis Western and her husband, Homer, of Verona and Hazel Rexrode of Lynchburg; four brothers, Thomas Nuckoles and his wife Shirley; Raymond Nuckoles and his wife Bonnie and Russell Nuckoles and his wife, Margie, all of Staunton and Carl Nuckoles and his wife, Jan of Stuarts Draft; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lynn Wright officiating.

The interment will follow in the Fletcher Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may pay thier respects any time at Arritt Funeral Home and the family will receive their friends one hour prior to service time Thursday morning at Arritt Funeral Home.
