Elsie Mae Morris Spangler Ayers, age 80, of 1272 Commercial Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at her residence.

She was born May 25, 1930 in Alleghany County, Virginia, to the late James Morris, Sr. and Annie Mae Mays Morris.

She was a homemaker throughout her life and a member of the Living Stones Ministries Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold W. Spangler, Sr. in 1958, her second husband, Calvin E. Ayers in 1998; a sister, Rosie L. Coffey, and a brother, James Morris.

She is survived by a son, Harold "Winnie" Spangler of Clifton Forge; two grandchildren, Amber S. Bunch and husband, Christian, and Sherman Spangler and wife, Lea; four great grandchildren, Trevor Bunch, Deston Spangler, Gracie Spangler, and Isabella Spangler; two special sisters-in-law, Ruth Givens and Wilma Spangler; and a number nieces and nephews, including special nephew, B. J. Coffey, Jr.

A funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Mike Rollins officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends attending the service. The family received friends on Thursday evening at Nicely Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 1272 Commercial Avenue, Clifton Forge. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, P.O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
