Marie Alfred Bell, 88, of 3603 Midland Trail, Covington, Virginia, died Thursday evening, November 11, 2010 at Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor.

She was born July 6, 1922 Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Josephine Alfred.

Mrs. Bell retired as a LPN from the former C & O Hospital.

She was a lifetime Member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde T. Bell in 1996 and a brother, Ernest Alfred.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-aw, Della and Ted Moore of Powhatan; three grandchildren, Clyde Moore and his wife, Pam of Richmond; Anne Martin of Richmond and Susan and Terry Shifflett of Shenandoah; nine great grandchildren: Michael Martin, Brandon Martin, Ben Moore, Amy Bankert, Monica Hensley, T.C. Shifflett, Jessica Shifflett, Timmy Shifflett, Daniel Shifflett; seven great great grandchildren: Troy Bankert, Angelyna Moore, Mikey Martin, Lanie Hensley, Jami Martin, Dylan Bankert, and Samara Martin; and a special cousin, Tommy Alfred of Covington.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2010 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Trembley officiating.

The interment will be made in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Friends may pay thier respects any time at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Arritt Funeral Home.
