June Conner Smith, 93, of Lexington, Virginia, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 13, 2010.

Mrs. Smith was born March 13, 1917 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Granville Rice Conner and Susie Glasgow Zollman Conner.

She was a member of the Poplar Hill Presbyterian Church for many years and attended the Ben Salem Presbyterian Church.

She was also a daughter of the U.D.C.

June was proud to be a farmer's wife of 60 years to her late husband, Robert Glasgow Smith.

Surviving is a great niece that was raised as a daughter, Julei M. Hinty; a sister, Bernice Conner Higgins; nieces and nephews, Cathey Ford Wiseman, Timothy Conner, Debbie Conner Whitner, Vickie Conner Bramlet, Camille Higgins Duncan and Granville Gregory Higgins; a special niece and nephew, Leisa Hinty Whitesell and David William Hinty, Jr.' and numerous other great, and great great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday November 15, 2010 in the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Miles officiating.
