Josephine Zimbro Alderman, 84, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Born June 12, 1926 in Goshen, VA, she the daughter of the late Henry Zimbro and Annie Bryant Zimbro.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Sylvester A. McLain and two great grandchildren.

Josephine was a member of the Neriah Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Frankie A. Alderman; three daughters, Shirley Clark Kern, Margaret Cooper Seaman and husband, Jerry, all of Lexington, and Betty Clevenger Staton and husband, Steve of Natural Bridge Station; one son, Henry McLain and wife, Betty of Lexington; one stepson, Dale Alderman of Buena Vista; one sister, Irene Branch and husband, Ivan of Lexington; ten grandchildren, Vince, Angel, Chris, Bridget, Regina, Shad, Kevin, Barry, Shane, and Ashley; two step grandchildren, Michael and Dustin; fourteen great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with Chester Willett officiating. Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family suggests that contributions may be made to Neriah Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
