William Kirkpatrick Stuart, Jr., 77, of Forest Grove Road, Lexington, Virginia, died Friday December 3, 2010 at the Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville, Va.

He Was born November 9, 1933 in Rockbridge County, the son of William K. Stuart, Sr. and Vada (Patterson) Stuart.

Known to friends and family as "Pat" or "Patrick," he held many jobs over the years, but retired from Dominion Power.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his children, Barbara (Martin) Stuart, and an infant son.

Surviving are his sister, Katherine Ann Walker of Richmond, daughters Susan Stuart and Carol Cahalen, both of Charlottesville, and son Michael Stuart; his wife, Martha Boyden Stuart and step-sons Charles D. Williams and John B. Williams.

He leaves behind seven grandchildren, Stuart, Patrick, Joseph and Sara Cahalen; Lauren and Julia Kois, and Claire Stuart. Also step-grandchildren Carly, Cole, Catie Williams and Olivia Williams.

A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m., Thursday, December 9, 2010 at the Timber Ridge ARP Cemetery with the Rev. Alfred Fogleman officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 11 a.m. Ð 12:00 p.m, at Harrison Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
