Obituary for Charles Bolivar Leech, III Charles Bolivar Leech, III
Former Coop Director Was Rockbridge County Supervisor

Charles Bolivar Leech, III, 82, of Lexington, Virginia, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010.

He was the son of the late Charles Bolivar Leech, Jr. and Margaret Parker Leech.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Leech Johnston.

Mr. Leech was born March 9, 1928 and raised in Amherst and Richmond, VA.

He was a 1950 graduate of Hampton Sydney with a B.S. degree in chemistry, and was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity.

Following graduation Mr. Leech moved to the family farm at Lexington, VA, where he raised beef cattle and later formed Ingleside Dairy Farm, Inc. He served as a director of the Rockbridge Farmers Co-Op for 32 years, was a past member of the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors, and was a member of Oxford Presbyterian Church, where he served as elder and Sunday School teacher.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Mackey Williams Leech; three children: Charles Bolivar Leech, IV and wife, Linda; Margaret Leech Showalter; Sarah Leech Dudley and husband, Otho; grandchildren: Beau Leech, Jennifer Leech, Travis Showalter, and Mary D. Showalter.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Oxford Presbyterian Church followed by a memorial service in the sanctuary, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Horace Douty and Rev. Barton Hellmuth. Contributions may be made to the Oxford Church Cemetery or the Effinger Volunteer Fire Department.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
