Ann Elizabeth Read Jones, 88, of Lexington, Virginia, died Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Kendal at Lexington.

Born May 30, 1922 in Lexington, Virginia, the daughter of the late Colonel Hernando Money Read and Ann Bosworth Read.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David Humphreys Jones, and one daughter, Wendy Jones Stephenson.

Mrs. Jones was a member of the R.E. Lee Memorial Episcopal Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Suzanne Lucas and husband, James of Ridgeway, VA; one son, Landon Humphreys Jones of Harrisonburg, VA; two grandchildren, Honor McCain and Kimberly Jerrentrup; two great grandchildren, Skye and Barrett McCain.

A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2010 at R. E. Lee Memorial Episcopal Church with the Rev. Tom Crittenden presiding. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Rockbridge Area Hospice.
