James Lester William Stone, 66, of 28 Scott Hollow Road, Eagle Rock, Virginia, died Friday, December 10, 2010 at his residence.

He was born July 1, 1944 in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late William "Bill" Stone and Nellie Mae Murphy Stone.

Mr. Stone retired as an Iron Worker in Sulfolk. He was an avid fisherman and loved camping. James was a gentle soul and very kind-hearted. Surviving are his daughter, Alechia Mae Stone-Sirry and her husband, James of Eagle Rock; his son, James William Stone of Suffolk; two bothers, Paul Stone of Charleston, SC and Bob Stone and his wife, Kris of Chattanooga, TN ; three sisters, Gloria Hood and her husband, Vernon of Winston-Salem, NC; Reba Arrington of Winston-Salem, NC and Gigi Blizzard of Dobson, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

he funeral service was held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2010 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William M. Hartsfield officiating.

Following the service, the family received friends In keeping with Mr. Stone's wishes, his body has been cremated.
