Alabama Native Was Devoted Wife, Stepmother

Donna Marie Silvey Pringle passed away suddenly after a brief illness on Friday, December 24, 2010 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

Donna was born September 4, 1960, the daughter of William Otis and Mary Edna Forrester Silvey.

The youngest of a family of six children, she grew up in and graduated from high school in Gadsden, Alabama.

She attended Sanford University, Birmingham, and the University of Alabama, Huntsville, graduating with a BA in Political Science. She additionally earned Technical Degrees in CAD and Paralegal studies from Coosa Technical College, and a Certificate in Horseshoeing from the Oklahoma State Horseshoeing School.

Donna worked in her native Alabama until moving to Atlanta in the 1990s. She met her husband-to-be in Atlanta and moved to Rockbridge County with him in 2006. She divided her time between work at Lowes' and her role as wife and stepmother to two adoring stepchildren.

Donna was a lover of flowers and books, and was always surrounded by her devoted animals.

Donna is survived by her husband, Robert S. Pringle; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Anne Pringle of Lexington, stepson Lcpl Robert Jens Pringle USMC; a brother, Alvin Dee Silvey of Nashville; sisters, Claudia Rebecca Stevens of Gadsden, Alabama, and Jesse Ruth Gray of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and sister-in-law, Martha Nail Silvey of Apopka, Florida.

She is deeply loved and will be sorely missed...

A celebration of Donna's life will be held in the Spring at her much-loved home overlooking her Blue Ridge Mountains. Donations may be made in her name to Rockbridge Habitat for Humanities or the Rockbridge ASPCA.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
