Charles Ramsey Hockman 81, of Lexington, Virginia, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Born December 9, 1929 in Raphine, a son of the late William David Hockman and Beatrice Ramsey Hockman.

Mr. Hockman was employed as office manager and accountant for Woody Chevrolet for 53 years. Charles was a member of the Collierstown Baptist Church, and was a member of the Lexington Masonic Lodge, where he was named Master Mason on April 3, 1959, and served as Master of the Lodge in 1964, 1985, and 1987.

In October of 2004, he was awarded a Life Membership for his 32 years of dedication as Treasurer of the Lodge.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Roberta N. Hockman of Lexington; one daughter, Brenda Hockman Ashworth and husband, Sam of Harrisonburg; one grandson, Tarpley Ashworth of Atlanta, GA.

Funeral services will be private with the Rev. Gary Short officiating and burial will be at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. Contributions in Charles' memory may be made to Collierstown Baptist Church 3926 Collierstown Road Lexington, VA 24450.
