Obituary for Marion Lee Coffman Marion Lee Coffman
Retired From Westvaco In 1975

Marion Lee Coffman, 95, of Covington, Virginia, died Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the Brian Center in Fincastle.

He was born February 2, 1915 in Covington, a son of the late Oney C. and Alice Andes Coffman.

Mr. Coffman retired in 1979 from Westvaco Corp. as a foreman on the #5 Paper Machine after 40 years of service. He was a member of the South Covington United Methodist Church and loved dancing with the Alleghany Squares Dancing Group.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Coffman was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Landes Coffman in 2002; an infant grandson, James Allen Guth, and also by one brother and one sister.

Surviving are his daughter, Beth Guth of Covington; one granddaughter, Teresa Guth of Blacksburg; two grandsons, Chris Guth of Roanoke and Mike Guth and his wife, Mary, of Covington; four great grandchildren, Amber Guth, Graham Guth, Spencer Guth, and Reese Guth; a nephew, Clifford Coffman of Poquoson and a special friend, Ann O'Shay of Fincastle. The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 8, 2011, at 2:00 PM in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Faith Weedling officiating. The interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011 proir to service time at Arritt Funeral Home.

The family suggest that memorial donations in Mr. Coffman's name may be made to the South Covington United Methodist Church, 1900 S. Kadel Ave., Covington, VA 24426.
