Horeb Baptist Church Member Dies At Age 73

Eunice Johnson Luckett, age 73, of 6626 Cowpasture River Highway, Millboro, Virginia, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at The Golden Living Center in Clifton Forge, Virginia.

Born July 11, 1937 in Charlottesville, Virginia, Mrs. Luckett was a daughter of the late Solomon and Sylvia Fortune Johnson.

She was a homemaker throughout her life and attended Horeb Baptist Church.

She was an avid flower gardener.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Priscilla Johnson; a son, William Steward; and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Wendell Romane Luckett of Millboro; a granddaughter, Rhonda Johnson of Memphis, TN; and step granddaughter, Keesha Robinson; a sister in Texas; a nephew, Wayne Luckett and wife, Cathy and their children, Randolph Smith and Wally Smith, all of Millboro; and a niece, Brenda Frye and husband, Elsid and their four children Cieria, Cameron, Nicholas, and Nicole, all of Covington.

According to her wishes, her body has been cremated and a graveside memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Luckett and Long Family Cemetery, Millboro. Friends may call any time at the residence, 6626 Cowpasture River Highway, Millboro, VA 24460.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is in charge of arrangements.
