Homemaker Was Emmanuel Baptist Church Member

Mary Belle Tucker Harrison, age 66, of 532 Crowmorr Street, Roanoke, Virginia, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the Salem Health and Rehabilitation Center in Salem.

She was born May 7, 1944 in Alleghany County, Virginia, to the late William Sadler Tucker and Lucinda Elizabeth Wolfe Tucker.

She was a homemaker throughout her life and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Roanoke.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clay "Pete" Harrison, Sr. in 1997; two brothers, Russell H. Tucker and Robert Myers Tucker, Sr.; and two sisters, Edith Frances Vance and Elizabeth Christine Tucker. She is survived by a step son, Clay Harrison of Great Falls; two sisters, Charlotte Hiser and husband, Joseph of Eagle Rock, and Ethel Yingling and husband, Charles of Roanoke; a brother, Charles Tucker and wife, Vonda of Covington; two step grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

According to her wishes, her body has been cremated. A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday at 3:00 p.m. in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Salem Health and Rehabilitation Piano Fund, 1945 Roanoke Blvd, Salem, VA 24153.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is in charge of arrangements.
