Obituary for Daniel Robert (Bob) Hunt Daniel Robert (Bob) Hunt
CFHS Graduate Was St. Stephen's Anglican Church Member

Daniel Robert (Bob) Hunt, age 64, of 1529 Ball Park Road, Eagle Rock, VA, died Monday, January 17, 2011 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke.

He was born March 17, 1946 in Roanoke, Virginia, to the late Reverend Robert and Vera "Honey" Forbes Hunt.

He was a 1964 graduate of Clifton Forge High School and retired as corpsman from the United States Navy after serving for twenty years.

He was a member of St. Stephen's Anglican Church, where he was a former member of the church vestry. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, played the role of a doctor in Civil War re-enactments, enjoyed genealogy research, loved trains and was a model train enthusiast.

He is survived by two sisters, Vera Hunt Melton of Elon, NC and Meriam Hunt Carpenter and husband, Joe Carpenter III of Covington; two nieces, Melissa Melton Snyder and husband, Steve of Perkinsville, VT, and Elizabeth Carpenter Cross and husband, William of Roanoke; a nephew, Joseph Carpenter IV and wife, Lori of Chesapeake; great nieces and great nephews, Ginny Snyder, Ian Snyder, Katie Cross, Joseph Carpenter V, and Jacob Carpenter; and cousins, Robert Hufford Hunt of Salem, Dr. Keith Kellog Hunt of Roanoke, Wally Hunt of Fredericksburg, A. Bruce Hunt of Georgia, and Burks Hunt of Florida.

According to his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Clifton Forge with Reverend Tom McHenry officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to St. Stephen's Anglican Church, 108 Turner Road, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
